Shakey decides to change his egg’n’roll van into a rock’n’roll van, hitting the road, chasing dreams of becoming a rockstar. Hopes are tested by a virus: The Shakey Shakey Hips. Can Shakey save the world, get to his rock’n’roll shakedown in Las Vegas and beat evil Elvis – Johnny B Bad – in a hard rock battle? Come and find out!

Ellie is a local beekeeper who is grieving the loss of a loved one. But life goes on and, as she continues to tend to the little lives of her bees, they give her the opportunity to explore her grief. Through working with the bees, Ellie meets Frank and Susan. Their passion for living and courage, despite leading difficult lives, inspires Ellie and prompts her to find her own path to healing. Queen of the Bees' is a one-woman show that explores themes of resilience, transformation and healing. The play was developed through the c21 Theatre Company's Early Career Playwrights Programme 2024, supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland through the National Lottery Fund and Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council. Shine Bright is the Sanctuary Theatre’s empowering theatre based, community programme for social change. Shine Bright responds to the needs and talent of the community, promoting creative skills and encouraging community cohesion in a relaxed and informal setting.
Across a yearlong programme, together we will create and devise theatre that challenges the way we see ourselves and others, culminating in a full production for and of our community, friends, and families.
Meeting on a Monday evening 7-9pm, sessions will be open to all adults who want to make new friends, gain confidence, say something about who they are and have fun through Theatre!
The two-hour weekly session will be on a PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN basis with suggested donations via our website! Places will be limited so book your sessions early to avoid disappointment.
